of the artist Michelle Oluwatomi Akanbi. Born in Montreal, and of Canadian-Nigerian heritage, the artist recalls her early musical influences to be Rihanna, Beyonce and Alicia Keys among others.

As she progressed in her craft, the need to create something different and more personal found “TOME” combining the upbeat, commercial vibe of early influencers with the sound of Jhene Aiko, Saz, Sid The Kid, Sade, and Lauren Hil.
It was within this newly woven tapestry of inspiration where she found her personal
and unique sound. With this TOME says, l want to change the game musically in
the mid-American industry by creating a genre still barely recognizable, Afro- Fusion”. TOME is also boldly committed to giving an empowering voice to women through her songs.exuding the spirit of confidence and pride in her artistry.

Throughout 2019. TOME had the pleasure of joining award-winning mega Afro-beats artist, Wizkid, on his 2019 Canadian Tour and legendary Mr. Eazi in for his 2019 Europe Tour, performed at the Wembley SSE, London at the Burnaboy Concert as well as exciting performances
at Afrofest 2019, Uppsala Reggae Festival 2019 in Sweden and SXSW 2019 in Texas.

2019 also saw TOME tour parts of North America, Europe and Arica to a very positive reception.
2020 is expected to be full of highlights, new projects and much more performances
TOME’s forthcoming single. THE MONEY, drops Feb 7. 2020 and is sure to be her biggest hit to date.
With a music video to accompany. this project takes TOME’s image and vibe to a whole new level.
